The Central Valley Wrestling Community’s mission is
to coordinate efforts and organize events for the Central
Valley of California, the state of California, and the rest
of the United States to reinstate wrestling at California
State University, Fresno (“Fresno State”). Amongst
the goals are the following:
1. All scholarships and financial support restored to the
wrestling program, effective immediately and indefinitely,
inclusive of 9.9 scholarships and an approximate $300,000
budget.
2. All current and future budget adjustments shall be equally
distributed amongst all Fresno State athletic programs.
3. The Fresno State wrestling team will continue to practice
in the same facility, effective immediately and indefinitely.
4. The Fresno State wrestling team will continue to host
wrestling meets in the North Gym, with the times and dates
to be determined by the Head Wrestling Coach. Additionally,
wrestling will be allowed 1-2 feature matches per season to
be hosted in the Save Mart Center, coordinated between the
Head Wrestling Coach and the athletic department.
5. All wrestling funds donated to the program will continue
to be segregated from the general athletic fund and used for
wrestling-related expenditures at the discretion of the Head
Wrestling Coach and the Takedown Club.
